Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the physician’s calendar, ensuring efficient patient flow.
  • Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of medical information.
  • Assist in managing billing, coding, and insurance-related paperwork, including processing claims.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and handle patient concerns or redirect as necessary.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and arrange necessary documentation for patient consultations.
  • Manage office inventory and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels for administrative needs.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in Medical Assisting or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Proven experience (X years) as a Medical Administrative Assistant or in a similar role within a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, electronic health records (EHR/EMR), and medical billing software.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a compassionate demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks efficiently, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations and patient privacy laws (HIPAA).
