Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized care and assistance to clients in their homes, catering to their individual needs and preferences.
  • Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting as required.
  • Support clients with mobility assistance, transfers, and exercises recommended by healthcare professionals.
  • Help with meal preparation, planning, and feeding as per dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe and tidy environment.
  • Assist with medication reminders and ensure clients adhere to prescribed medication schedules.
  • Accompany clients to appointments, outings, and social activities as needed.
  • Provide companionship, emotional support, and engage in activities to promote mental stimulation and well-being.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of care provided, observations, and any changes in clients’ conditions.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification or training in caregiving, personal support, or home care is preferred.
  • Proven experience (X years) as a Home Support Worker or in a similar caregiving role is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
  • Knowledge of personal care techniques, mobility assistance, and familiarity with safety precautions.
  • Ability to follow care plans, adapt to clients’ changing needs, and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Compassion, patience, and reliability in providing consistent care and support to clients.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle may be required for certain positions.
