Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of retail associates, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Ensure efficient daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management
- Maintain a visually appealing and organized store layout that meets company standards
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, set targets, and implement strategies to achieve sales goals
- Implement and enforce loss prevention measures to minimize theft and ensure store security
- Collaborate with the management team to develop marketing strategies and promotional activities
- Oversee merchandise displays, restocking, and inventory control to meet customer demand
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a retail supervisory or management role
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service orientation with a focus on meeting and exceeding customer expectations
- Proficiency in retail operations, including inventory management and sales analysis
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of POS (Point of Sale) systems and basic computer skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in retail management or a related field is a plus
Tasks
- Assign sales workers to duties
- Hire and train or arrange for training of staff
- Authorize payments by cheque
- Order merchandise
- Authorize return of merchandise
- Establish work schedules
- Sell merchandise
- Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters
- Organize and maintain inventory
- Resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints and supply shortages
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers
- Supervise staff (apprentices, stages hands, design team, etc.)
