Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly, listen to their vehicle concerns, and gather relevant information about their vehicles’ issues.
  • Translate technical jargon into clear and understandable language for customers, explaining needed repairs, estimates, and recommended services.
  • Provide accurate cost estimates and timeframes for repairs, outlining the scope of work and associated charges.
  • Schedule repair appointments, considering technician availability, parts ordering, and customer preferences.
  • Liaise between customers and auto technicians to ensure clear communication and accurate interpretation of repair needs.
  • Collaborate with the parts department to order necessary components and ensure timely availability for scheduled repairs.
  • Maintain organized and detailed records of customer interactions, repairs, estimates, and follow-up communications.
  • Continuously update customers on repair progress, additional findings during inspection, and any changes to estimates or completion times.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback with professionalism and empathy, ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Monitor and manage the shop’s workflow, ensuring that repairs are completed on schedule and efficiently.

  • Stay updated with industry trends, new vehicle technologies, and service procedures to provide up-to-date information to customers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Prior experience as a Service Writer or in a customer-facing role within the auto repair industry is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of automotive terminology, repair processes, and maintenance services.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and technicians.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software applications for record-keeping and communication.
